My Love Bugs

You will all have to pardon my horrible picture taking skills. But I thought you might like to see my valentines. Aren't matching jammies so fun? The boys say "Super Love Bug" and the girls just say "Love". They have had so much fun with these, I think we might have to make this a Morgan Family tradition.
My #1 valentine and I celebrated simply and quietly. I had all sorts of plans in my head for this year, but unfortunately the only one that happened was a Valentine's "kickoff" breakfast the week before, (because who wants to get valentine jammies the day of....better to enjoy them longer, I say!) involving pink crepes and raspberries with pink whipped cream. Oh wait, the kids and I did also make some rice krispy treats with valentine candy in them. But no valentines made to mail or anything. Sorry grandparents. We got sick. And life fell apart from there.

Anyway, as I was saying, my love and I spent the evening as we spend most. Cuddled up on the couch watching netflix after we put the love bugs to bed. We did add a special treat of chocolate fudge brownie ice cream into the mix. And you know what? It was perfect. While I enjoy flowers, chocolates and fancy dates as much as the next girl, it was comforting to see that "same old, same old" feels so good. And to know that I couldn't have enjoyed myself more. All that mattered was us. Now that's love.

Family Pics 2010

Do you ever get sick of me saying that I have the cutest kids ever? Well, it 'aint gonna stop, (I can talk like that because I live in the Basin) and I think you can see why. We recently had another session with the lovely and talented Melinda Smith and these are the overwhelmingly beautiful results. Moms, I tried to post mostly color photos for you since I know you don't dig the b/w like I do.

Do you think I'm awful for LOVING this one of Princess P? It cracks me up!

I LOVE MY BOYS!

Knowing how big of a Daddy's girl the Princess is, this one ought to melt everyone's heart.

I'm absolutely in love with this one. It's going on my desk. On, around, near, I don't care but I want to see him look at me that way every day.

And of course the smoocheroo is going to have to go in our room. ;)

I know that the blog is SCREAMING for a long overdue update. It's coming. In my defense, my computer should be retired to the Uintah Basin Care Center. I like to refer to it as, "the snail." It sucks the fun right out of blogging. But, it is the window to our world, so I'll get on that soon! Happy Friday!

We're 5 for 5 Baby!

No, I'm not talking about roast beef sandwiches. I'm referring to the fact that Brandon and I just celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary, (July 29) with our cute little 5 person family.
To celebrate, we took a little trip out to the Wasatch Front and visited some of our old favorite hang-outs. Of course, we had to take the boys to the Bean Museum on BYU's campus.
Who knew that dead animals could be so much fun? My boys love it. When we lived in Orem, I went through a phase where I would take Parker there once a week. Good times.

After that, we just took some time walking around campus; we saw all the fountains and waterfalls, and ducks for the boys, and we hit a sale at the BYU bookstore.
That evening, Brandon and I had a night out to dinner, (by ourselves!!) at Brick Oven, another Provo gem that is one of our faves. We also hit a comedy show at BYU, Humor U. It was great. Good, clean, hilarious entertainment. Thanks to Grandma and Poppy for the babysitting. It was a pretty quick, last minute trip, but it was fun to take a trip down memory lane and see all the places we spent so much time when it was just the two of us....and then the three of us....and then the four of us. Time has gone by so fast, but we've tried to enjoy every minute of it. Life has definitely not taken us in the direction we originally planned for ourselves, but it has been worth it, and much good has come from it. We feel so blessed as we look back on the last 5 years and see all of the help that we've had from our Heavenly Father. We've grown, and learned so much. And we have the best, cutest kids in the world.....who wouldn't be happy about that?
Happy Anniversary Honeybear. I love you.

We Heart Dad!

Don't you just love it when your husband comes home from work and just senses that you've run out of gas for the day? I do. That's the best part about marriage.....helping to make up where the other spouse leaves off to make a complete whole. We had one of those moments the other day. Brandon could tell I needed a break, so he turned on some relaxing music, and helped the kids fingerpaint, (yes he voluntarily picked something messy!) while I got to just watch and enjoy. He even bathed the kids after. I'm so lucky. Happy Father's Day Honey!

To My Sweetheart

I just wanted to take a minute to say thanks to my husband. What a sweet guy he is! He does so much for me and I want to let him know how very much I appreciate him. I know some people look at the way we do things as a bit strange....we've been told I do too much for him, but I want to say, I love our life and the way we do things, and know that he deserves all that I do and more. We have a comfortable home, I drive an awesome van that he got brand new for me, he provides for us so that I can stay home and take care of the munchkins, and most of all, he shows us that he loves and appreciates us. I think the reason some people think that I do too much, is because he brags me up to sound better than I really am, and I have discovered that half the secret to being a good wife, is having a husband that thinks you are. When he gives me a compliment, or I hear from someone else something nice that he's said, it always makes me want to do more and be better. We're coming up on five years this year, (in July) and I keep thinking about how lucky I am to have found someone like him! He keeps me focused on what's important in life, and also shows by example; always putting the kids and I first. He's fabulous at spending one on one time with each of the boys, and you can tell how much it means to them by the looks on their faces when they're playing with Dad. I love having a husband who is such a good Dad. I know lately it's been easy for me to get caught up in my own wants, and those of the kids, so please know that I've noticed your extra efforts lately, and I appreciate everything you do. Love you!

Lucky Me!

I just wanted to take this opportunity to brag about what a fantastic husband I have! I just got these flowers that he sent me today. Aren't they beautiful? It really made me feel loved, and reminded me how lucky I am to have someone like him. Some of my favorite things about him....he can always make me laugh, (even when I'm not in the mood to) he knows me better than I know myself and is always encouraging me, he's obviously romantic, (hence the flowers while he's out of town) he's very loyal, and it still makes me weak in the knees to look at him! He's also a fabulous Dad and provider for our family. I really appreciate that he works so hard so I can stay home and be a mom. Thanks for all you do for us Honeybear!
