Snow Much Fun

This was what our first "snow" in Kansas looked like.
Paige had seen it out the window first and ran to tell her brothers who both came excitedly to see.  Parker said, "That's not snow!"  He was right....but that didn't stop him from running out to play in it anyway.
Paige was of course back in the house 5 minutes after this picture, but the boys stayed out until they had tromped over all of the rapidly melting slush.  They even managed to gather a little pile of snow in one shady corner into which they stuck a carrot nose.

About two weeks later we got a little more snow.  This time Claire was allowed to go out and play.  Paige didn't even pretend to want to this time. ;) Claire was pretty cute out there with the boys and managed to stay out for a while longer than I expected.  It was all new to her, having never really been big enough to go out in snow before.
And the boys were thrilled to finally manage a real snowman!  They said it was me.  Seeing as how at the time I was about two weeks from having a baby...I told them they should've put the largest ball in the middle to make an accurate representation. ;)
And then finally in February we got some "real" snow.  A blizzard in fact.  With lovely timing, right before, during and after our move.  This time both girls thought it would be great to go out and ended up right back in 5 minutes later asking for "hot chockate."
Sadly, this was the only picture from that storm I was able to somewhat salvage for the blog.  The rest were deleted from the camera without getting saved to the computer, and while I had posted a few on facebook that were absolutely adorable, they weren't any good after downloading them back here.  You'll just have to take my word for it that the boys had a blast shoveling snow with their Daddy, and the boys built another snow family member, this time for Paige.
