Kites

I want to say that kite flying was a highlight of our spring.  I really wish it was.  As cute as they were for all of about a half an hour, that was all they could handle the first time.  The second, it wasn't ten minutes before all kite strings were a tangled mess; they're still hopelessly waiting for untangling on top of the dryer because I refuse to admit defeat in this activity.  We will get it down one of these years.

This cute smiley thing was actually the very best kite flyer.  For the most part, she was happy to let her string out, hold still and leave it alone as she watched it fly.  The others got bored and fussed with their kites causing them to crash and tangle repeatedly.

Emma's face as she watched the first kites go up.....
.....and Emma's face when she realized she didn't have one of her own.  Sweet thing.  It's hard to be told you're not as big as everyone else!  I had a hard enough time keeping her untangled from everyone else's string.  Who knows what mess she could've made with her own!
