Snow Globes

Our most recent Christmas craft was these homemade snowglobes.  The kids had a lot of fun with this, but I will warn anyone wanting to try it....I still have glitter all over my house.  It just adds to the magic of Christmas, right?  :)

Obviously it's pretty self explanatory; I found some figurines by the Christmas villages at Walmart, (still upset by the fact that I couldn't find ONE religious themed figurine or ornament in the whole stinking store.  It's Christmas!  Where's Baby Jesus?!) add glitter, water, a few drops of glycerin, (found by the neosporin - helps the glitter fall slowly) and then I found some teeny tiny presents that we tossed in too.  One thing we did do....Obviously the rim of the jar is about an inch thick....if your figurines aren't very tall they're going to look really low in your jar.  We used a round plastic tape roll to glue on to the jar lid and then glued the figurines on top of that so they would stand up taller.  Lots of fun and a cute, cheap decoration.

Oh yay! You did them! They turned out so cute! And the pictures are lookin' great! Did you have to spend time educating yourself on how to properly USE your camera? Or is just having a better camera that's making the difference? Because I would like a better camera, but I don't know that I am disciplined enough to learn how to really utilize it...

That's awesome! I don't think I have the strength to try making sno globes this year. You sure are "Crafty McCraftin"! ;)
