A Teaser....
Today I am grateful for: paint on the walls!!!!!! Finally!!
For those of you who haven't already heard my complaints, we have been in the process of fixing up the living room and kitchen in our house for over a year now. Okay, to be fair, the kitchen joined the project list only recently, but the living room has been torn up pretty much since we moved in. We had some lovely wood paneling circa 1960's on the wall, and a pretty sweet built in magazine/plant stand that Brandon couldn't resist tearing out as soon as we moved in. I still remember the conversation. It went like this:
Me: Honey, don't you think we should wait until we have a plan for how to fix those things up before we just start tearing things apart?
Brandon: Nahhh.....it will only take a couple of weeks to fix this up. A can of paint and some new flooring to cover this patch and we'll be good to go.
Me: I'd really feel better waiting until we had a plan and knew we could buy the supplies before you rip everything out so it's not torn up for too long.
Brandon: Ah....paint's nothing. Really, trust me. Besides, this is hideous.
Me: Yes, it is, but at least it's finished, (as Brandon is already hard at work).
And here we are over a year later. And there's still a bare patch on the floor where the plant stand was. But I am so excited not to have to explain that we do not plan on leaving the walls that funky two-toned color that is the result of new texture with no primer or paint on it, (although people do seem to think that we've left the bare patch in the floor for them to leave their wet, muddy shoes on).
I know it's mean to leave this as a teaser.....but it's late, and there is not good lighting for a picture right now. Besides, my house is a mess. So you will have to wait at least until tomorrow for some pics. I'll have to dig out the before's too so you get the whole idea. I know they're around here somewhere........
